No idea. The "more Info" links sends me here: https://tư vấn.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4018124/windows-10-update-history?ocid=client_wu

& opens up the updates for 1703. All my workstations are on 1607.

The appear lớn just supersede 2 other ones, adding the edition lớn the description. My biggest question is what is the difference in the editions & should I re-image the "consumer" edition?

v1709 only has 2 types of media

Now, instead of having separate truyền thông media & packages for Windows 10 Pro (volume licensing version), Windows 10 Enterprise, and Windows 10 Education, all three will be bundled together.

and the other truyền thông has Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 S và Windows 10 Pro in it.

Could it refer khổng lồ that? the VL install is business edition & the OEM is consumer edition? If so, it is a new màn chơi of stupid in MS nomenclature.

So Windows 10 Pro OEM or Retail is called Consumer while Windows 10 Pro VL is called Business? That"s just brilliant.

And that"s especially weird because my W10 Pro VL machines start reporting in the VAMT as having retail keys after feature upgrades.

No, Windows 10 Business is another SKU that is available with a Microsoft 365 Business subscription. Its not included in either of those types of truyền thông media I mentioned.

That"s what it looks like. I actually just looked at VAMT, và it does appear that the "consumer" workstations show up as "Retail" và the "business" as "GVLK".

As you said, brilliant.

Can MS be any more stupid and/or confusing?

The way it is licensed should not dictate if it is business or consumer. That makes no sense. It"s all Win10 Pro. More so when the "consumer"/"Retail" license is an OEM license on a business class Dell machine.

Agreed. I"m not sure what MS is thinking on this one.
